If the title wasn't a give away, I am not a massive fan of this place. The AC seems to be controlled from reception rather than in rooms. Which is odd as hell and gives it a hostel/prison vibe. I am currently writing this review at 4am as it has turned itself off after I earlier went to reception to get it turned on. Breakfast hygiene is questionable, with staff members taking an apparent hotel cat into the kitchen. My girlfriend thought it was cute until a cat hair appeared in my breakfast. Extra flavour I guess?? Breakfast is continental+ with 2 greasy, fried eggs making it a "cooked" breakfast. Day one it was bread, two cheese slices, 2 meat slices, 2 fried eggs, fried dough and juice brought out to us. Day two it was a cold buffet, again definitely of the continential variety. Oh and watch out for the cold coffee ( whilst the pot literally sat on a hot plate) or the lack of care around allergies. I think the cold coffee highlights a problem with service. Table one complained about the cold coffee, the waiter literally looked at the hot plate and went and got the lady a coffee. The dude left the clearly broken hotplate and cold coffee out for guests. Shock horror, 5 minutes later a new breakfast guest complained about the cold coffee. Staff solved the immediate problem rather than the root cause. Next day, same issue. And looking at other reviews (i like to check I am not being unreasonable) cold coffee is a known issue. So what else are they letting slide? The hotel appear to be have been designed for aesthetics rather than functionality. Cue bathrooms where the toilet paper is out of arms reach. Bathroom sinks which are so large that there is nowhere to rest one's toothbrush, soap, hairbrush or anything else. Or the towel rail above the toilet. It feels like someone saw nice fittings but didn't actually consider how it would all practically work. In room TV appears to rely on a previous guests Netflix password. So, thanks for that random person before me. One star of this review goes to them to be honest. In room cleaners were ok, but glasses weren't cleaned during cleans, complimentary water wasn't replenished, nor were soaps. Speaking of the rooms, city views give you a sight of people's houses behind the hotel. The pool is small as anything, it's more akin to a extended hot tub. I am no swimmer but maybe three strokes would work before having to turn. Two if I actually push from the side. Positives? Wine and cocktails are reasonable.
